Interesting article... I actually found that if you have Google Webmaster Tools you can in fact submit your url for reconsideration. You need to supply them with reasons why you think your url has been blacklisted and any corrective measures you have taken. It may take Google a few weeks to check your url, but it looks like it could be a valuable tool if you think your domain has a dodgy history.

This is a little higher than current reseller pricing, but it certainly isn't jaw-dropping. There were a half-dozen that sold for $xxx, xxx each recently.

Wow, that just goes to show that good descriptive .com's and short 2-3 letter .com's are worth their weight in gold to the right end-user buyers. I registered Shop4RVs.com back about 10 years ago, if someone is interested in it drop me an email at rec3@cox.net

Is 15000$ not high for registering a domain name? Afterall, the development and deployment costs are extra, right?
Most of this money would have gone to the resellers who would have registered this domain at some hapenny price!

I think the entire domain name industry (domainers) needs to take a close look at itself. I know this will be an unpopular statement (probably not pubished), but it seems to me that the days of buying bulk domain names and just parking them are OVER OVER OVER. The major search engines are not in favor of this and there are only so many words in the dictionary. I think it's time that the domainers figure out that they may need to spend a little time on their sites if they want to make money from them... I know, a difficult pill to swallow after the hay-days they have had...

BUT - the good news is that with only a minimal effort on SEO, they can see the profits they once had.. And it can be scalable to the level they would like..

Many of the 2 letter dotcom's have gone for $500,000 - 1+ Million so it is not surprising to see more doing the same.
