Sedo Scores Big on GGG.com and JazzMusic.com

Domain name sales rocked this week, at least over at the online domain name auction site Sedo.com.  The story lies in the sale of two domain names for great prices.  GGG.com, a super 3-letter domain name and dot com, sold for $85,000.

The second domain name that went for a high price was JazzMusic.com, which sold for $35,500 on Sedo.com.  I checked my own inventory of music related domain names and don’t have anything that will compete close to the JazzMusic.com domain name, but nonetheless still have some valuable domain names.

Take for example, CampusMusicStore.com — which would make a great domain name for any music store located near a college or university campus.  I also own RappingOnline.com, RapMob.com and RapJaw.com.  If you have an interest in any of the domain names send me an email.

TopModel.com Sells for $117,500

SnapNames.com came up the big winner last week with the sale of TopModel.com for $117,500. The owners of OrientalFurniture.com purchased the domain name RoomDividers.com for $40,000 in a private sale. GoNYC.com sold for $40,000 on Afternic.com, while DNForum scored the big sale of Mozilla.com for $40,000.

When I see a domain name like RoomDividers.com go for $40,000 it makes me wonder what my domain name, CustomFitBlinds.com, would be worth. I’d appreciate hearing your feedback with any thoughts you might have on the value of this domain name. Likewise, if you’re in the blinds business and have an interest in buying it, I’ll entertain serious offers.

In the world of 2-letter/number domain names Sedo.com scored a hit with the sale of 7H.com for $20,500, while Y3.com sold for $19,279 at SnapNames.com. One of the big surprises of the week to me was the sale of 18.no for $17,150 on Sedo.com.

Finally, one domain name gets a lot of type-in search engine traffic, namely FreeLove.com, went for $17,650 on SnapNames.com. The domain name brings up images of the hippy years when the term “free love” was used extensively and became a household word. These day “free love” is a highly searched term on Google, MSN and Yahoo.com, so its no surprise that the dot com domain name version would go for such a high value. In fact, if I’m surprised at all it would be over the fact that I think the domain name could have sold for a higher value than it did.

Printer.com Sells for $800,000 in Private Sale

Two powerhouse domains sold in the past week. Printer.com sold for $800,000 in a private sale, while Affiliate.com sold for a whopping $579,000 on Moniker. Both domain names have the potential to become e-commerce powerhouses. It’s rather obvious that Printer.com will sell printing services online, a huge market with lots of upside potential.

Affiliate.com could either be used by an affiliate software or affiliate program management company, competing against the likes of a Commission Junction, for example. Or, Affliliate.com could be used as a giant web portal that matches potential affiliates with companies having their own affliate program. If they go this route they will more than likely end up pushing work from home Internet entrepreneurs that have ruled this segment of the affiliate business for a long time.

In a time-sensitive sale of a domain related to the upcoming presidential election, the domain name Electoral.com sold for $8,700 on Sedo. It seems like a rather disappointing sales price for a single dictionary word domain name, but when you think of how infrequent the subject comes into play and how difficult it would be to monetize this domain name, perhaps not.

Lastly, the 2-letter domain name OD.com sold on Sedo.com for $220,000, while Weddings.org was sold in a private sale for $34,500.

BedandBath.com Goes for $50,000

Sedo.com has completed the sale of BedandBath.com for $50,000. Although the domain is composed of 3 words, it is a popular saying and used frequently in the retail trade. Given that, I think it will prove to be a bargain for the buyer.

Of interest to those that track the sale 2-letter domains, Sedo is also handling the auction of ud.com and yb.com. UD.com is currently standing at $60,000 with 1 day and 8 hours left on the 7-day auction. YB.com is currently standing at $55,000. I expect both domain names to be sold at a much higher price.

I’m not too big on .net domain names. But currently there’s a bargain one being sold on Sedo. I’m speaking of the auction of China.net — which after 6 days and 19 hours only sits at $500. This one will more than likey be a steal for anyone that gets it.

The surprising sale of the week has to be DangerousPictures.com, which went for $5,000.

Looking through my own cache of domain names today I discovered a few I forgot I had that may be of interest to some of you. They are: YourRecommendation.com, ComplaintFiles.com and Astounding.info. If you have an interest in making a bid — send me an email.

One Word Domain Name Auctions

Several one-word domain name auctions are currently taking place on Sedo.com.  Comedy.org is currently sitting at $20,000 with 1 bid, but has 5 days and 14 hours left on the auction.  Surprisingly, Pokern.at is at the top of the Sedo.com 7-day auction list at 36,000 Euros from a single bidder.

Three new one-word domains have started 7-day auctions witin the last 10 to 11 hours, and equally surprising, they are sitting at very low bid levels as I write this post.  Wrongful.com is currently at $500, Workable.com is resting at $150 and Watery.com is at $107.  Obviously, there’s lots of time left on these auctions and we surely expect all three of these domains to go very high.  We’ll try to keep you in touch with these auctions in the coming days.

Speaking of one-word domain names, I found one in my inventory yesterday I had totally forgotten I owned.  The domain is Qualifyings.com   — maybe not the best one-word domain name, but it would be a great domain name for a website about sports, whether it be a listing of athletes who qualified for various sports, athletes that qualified to make the Olympics team, etc.   If you’re interested in it, make me great offer.

I received a $300 offer for my domain GoPeddle.com, but chose not to sell it.  I think its a great name for a bike shop or anyone wishing to sell products you peddler, whether it be bicycles, exercise bikes, paddle boats, etc.  Make me a high 3-figure offer and the domain name can be yours.
