People are always telling me that all the good domain names have been taken, and that there are no bargains in the world of domain names anymore. This is true for one-word, 2-letter, 3-letter, 4-letter and numerical domain names, but there are numerous two-word domain names of value that expire frequently and become available to the public. I know, because I purchase them regularly.

Today was no exception. I just registered two great domain names that one could quickly and easily monetize. They were HomeownerProperties.com and HomeownersForums.com. If you’re interested in buying them before I get around to taking them live and monetizing them, make an offer.

Yesterday’s collection of domain names I registered included two great 3-word domain names, TonerSalesOnline.com and CasketSalesOnline.com. I know what you’re thinking, “How morbid can I be, right?” But low income people and people with limited funds increasingly go online and to purchase caskets to help self money on the costs of a funeral. Such a domain name is easy to monetize because several casket companies sell caskets online and have affiliate programs that pay commissions averaging around 10%. Most of the sales you would make will net commissions ranging from $200 to $500.

Other valuable two-word domain names I’ve purchased recently include CashflowEnterprise.com (one could argue its a 3-word domain), AmazingCarpets.com, AmazingSeeds.com, AmazingThongs.com, AmazingTires.com and AmazingCalendars.com. If you see any of these you like send me your best offer.

Blonde.com sold a week a week ago for $99,000 and Track.com, another one-word domain name sold for $92,000, only to be outdone by the sale of Deals.de in a private sale that brought the seller €65,640 Euros. At today’s exchange rate that amounts to $103,625 U.S. dollars. These three domain name sales amounted to the highest sales prices we were able to track down for sales during the third week of June.

Another .de (German) domain name, Nepal.de, sold for €38,000 Euros, or approximately $59,000 U.S. dollars. Interesting sales of one-word domains with other extensions included Baseball.us, which sold for $25,000 on Sedo, Income.ca (a Canadian domain name), which sold for $26.242 at MyID.ca.

Other at Moniker.com we saw Closings.com sell for $25,000. But the real winners at Moniket was the sale of Track.com mentioned heretofore for $92,000, and our favorite, ComputerParts.com, which sold for $80,000.

In the area of 2 and 3-letter domains we saw CV.ca sell at MyID.ca for $54,977 and NWN.com sell at Sedo.com for $22,500. One that puzzled us until we looked up the name, was the sale of Alpari.com for $65,000 on Sedo.com. We did did some research and found a very popular Forex Trading software program that went by the same name and heretofore did not own the dot com version. We can only assume that they were the lucky buyer of this domain name.

The German domain name fotograph.de sold on Sedo.com for 10,100 Euro’s, or approximately $15,560 U.S. Dollars.
Every now and then a domain name sells for a pretty good price and you say to yourself, “Say what?” or “I don’t get it.” Such is the case with the sale of BankTunes.com for $2,550. Okay, this domain name does have a ring to it, I give you that much, but TunesBank.com would be a much better domain name if this was purchased for a music sales and distribution website. On the other hand, if the idea is to create on online venture where you pay for Internet storage of your digital music file (i.e. tunes), then I can see where this domain name could really catch on.

As noted in prior posts, I personally own approximately 4,500 domain names. There’s one thing I can say about owning so many domains, and that is its impossible to remember all the good ones you have. I own many that are catchy, memorable, easy to say, easy to pronounce, one-word and two-word — you name it. But frankly, it takes a very long time to screen the list and the larger the list, the more difficult it becomes to establish or determine what is likely to sell quickly and what takes a time to sell it.

I’ll give you a few examples of what I’m talking about. I will use actual domain names I own. Take for example WorkingCat.com — owned for some time now and it still gets lots of hits at a cash parking site. I’ve never tried to market this domain name and the longer I keep it the more I fall in love with it. And God is it popular. With just a one-page cash parking site it will average about 500 to 550 hits per month. My asking price for WorkingCat.com is $1,000 if you have an interest in buying it.

Down the traffic curve a ways are my domain names YourHype.com and QuickBillion.com. These domain names don’t get a lot of traffic as one-page cash parking sites, but they are catchy and people come to each often as a result of typing in the domain name, as opposed to finding them via search engine. My asking price for each of these domian names is $600.

More to my 2-word domain name liking is a couple of other domain names I own – GoFones.com and TexasSUV.com. The first would be a great domain name for a cell phone seller, while the latter is an excellent domain name for a custom SUV shop, for example. My asking price for GoFones.com is $500 and my asking price for TexasSUV.com is $250. If you care to bid on any of these 6 domain names please send my your bid and contact info via the online form.

My best domain name sale in the past 2 years has been LPG.net for $10,000. I should have held on longer. I candidly admit I regret having sold it. I really wasn’t a motivated seller, didn’t need the money, but had held on to the domain name for several years and wanted some bragging rights. That’s a stupid reason to sell.

I was also ticked at myself because I had received a $15,000 offer for NetHopper.com and had totally botched the sale by making a very unwise decision to hire a third party to negotiate for a higher price. The third party mediator had an aggressive personality totally bent my buyer out of shape, leading them to get ticced and registering net-hopper.com and telling me to go fly a kite. Sometimes life comes with some difficult lessons, often caused by mistakes we make on our own. That was one big mistake for me.

Getting back to the subject at hand, dot net domain names, we are only 2 hours away from the close of a 7-day auction of banks.net at eBay. And guess what, the bidding for this good (noticed I didn’t say great) domain name, is already up to $23,000. There are 22 bids thus far, and guess what, the reserve price has not been met yet! Who would have thunk? It’s a crazy world we live in folks, and I think the Lord every day for it.

If you questioned my thinking when I predicted last night that Pizza.com would sell for over $1 millon dollars, doubt me no more. With 5 days and 12 hours remaining on its 7-day auction at Sedo, Pizza.com has 30 bids and a high bid only $1,001 short of the million dollar mark at $999,999. This puppy is screaming and is going down in domain name sales lore as one of the biggest sales of the past 2 years, mark my word.

Just to prove how value a great single word domain name might be, whether it is a dot com or not, the domain name autos.net is also on a 7-day auction at Sedo.com and also has 5 days and 12 hours remaining. Autos.net currently has 6 bids with a high bid of $49,999 and lots of time to spare. It’s going to be interesting to see just how high a dot net domain can sell.

It’s time now for my readers to wake up and post a comment. To the lucky commentor that guesses the closet to the actual selling price of pizza.com I will give you free, the 4-letter dot com domain name IBXZ.com. So click the blue button below and file your comment and final bid estimate for Pizza.com now.

You’re going to love the two domains I just put up for 5-day auctions with a staring price of only 99 cents. Hold on to your hats because both of these domains are outstanding. MSVistaTips.com — a super domain name for a Microsoft Vista blog, forum or information site that will draw traffic for years to come is one of the two great domains. The other domain name up for auction is none other than DotComBeach.com — a super domain name for a web host, a web designer, a domain name reseller, a domain name registrar, etc. It was tough for us to make the call on both domain names. The Vista domain name is practically an guaranteed traffic magnet, and the DotComBeach.com domain name has the most brandable ring to it that I can remember. Who would ever forget that domain name? No one. Click on our Ebay store button on the upper right side of our home page to take you direct to these auctions. They were just posted minutes ago.
